Some time back in class, we were talking about a couple of things. Globalization, technology (as always) and virtual learning. People can even take tuition from a tutor halfway across the globe.

Virtual learning has tried to creep into our schooling lives since before i could remember (when it started that is :/). i guess thats not all too long ago considering im still kinda young *coughs*. But the thing about it is, it’s kinda a bad idea to me. Not in its entirety of course, more like, if we delve much further into trying to incorporate it extensively into education.

Think about it. What is school to you? Lets think primary level. School was , recess, hop-skotch, blind men, catching, five-stones, okay fine class rooms, music lessons, PE, the occassional computer lab lessons. Yeah back then we still had typing tutorials. Think thequickbrownfoxjumpedoverthefence. Now i suppose it’s more of Typing Maniac in kindergarten.

My point is, if the day comes where everyone is virtually home schooled. These are the things they stand to lose. Social life and skills, physical activity ( obesity percentage rising?), hands-on practice sessions, as in science labs.

Do we want to have everything we know in our life based on theories only? Even socializing? I definitely dont want that. period.It’s not to say that technological advances aren’t welcomed. It’s just that I feel that it should be a part of our education to enhance it) rather than to dictate it.

I use my Oral B cross action toothbrush. I love the colour, the bristles, and its the brand most dentists recommend.

Its the same with search engines. Most people jsut stick with the top search engine Google. For us average human beings, once we’re sold to a search engine, we stick by it. We dont spend our lives singling out new (or old eitherrr) ones to try out.

However, maybe, just MAYBE, we’re missing out on the good stuff this way.

Bing is Microsoft’s newest answer to it’s pool of search engines from yester-year. Think Microsoft Live Search, Msn Search. How boring. i very much prefer the sound of bingbingbingbongbing.

Seriously. Who is a TV-made couch potato these days. Okay secretly I’m just sore that I dont have cable at home.But it doesnt change the fact that all the channel wars and advertisments are swiftly being sucked into the virtual world as well.

For us users, let’s just rejoice on the saving of bandwith costs [ if you upload] and the EXPANSIVE variety of programmes available to us online from ….. Youtube Dailymotion Youku Tudou icefilms.net Flickr Revver Vimeo (upload laaaaaaaarge files) Truveo Myspace megaupload Gawkk Vidoosh (Iranian) Blip.tv and even Xtube Youporn which im sure some of you are more familiar with than i am…..

Love thy portfolio case

So the time has come for our mock interview and I went in search of the long-forgotten portfolio case.

Found it, and thought to myself : You ugly little thing, it’s time for you to see the light of day.

I hadn’t even gotten down to mental criticisms regarding smells when it hurled the metal hook of its zip right into my Kate Spade [ that's my left eyebag for those of you who dont know]. Thank goodness I blinked.
